NEWPORT, R.I. (September 25, 2007) – BankNewport President and CEO, Thomas W. Kelly, recently announced the appointment of Colleen J. Medeiros to senior vice president and chief information officer. Medeiros joined BankNewport in 1980 and has held various positions, most recently serving as vice president and chief information officer. She is responsible for overseeing all aspects of development and implementation of the Bank’s information technology program, including strategic and tactical planning; development, evaluation, and coordination of the information and technology systems; and disaster recovery plan.
Medeiros earned an associates degree in Business Administration from Bristol Community College in Fall River, Massachusetts and is a graduate of the Bank Administration Institute (BAI) Graduate School of Bank Operations and Technology at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. She is a member of the executive board of the New Bedford High School Band Boosters Association and is a member of the Newport County Chamber of Commerce. Colleen and her two children reside in New Bedford, Massachusetts.
