NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (December 26, 2007) – BankNewport Vice President and North Kingstown Branch Manager, Douglas McEwen recently presented a check in the amount of $500 to the Friends of the North Kingstown Dog Pound Secretary/Treasurer, Russ Shabo. The organization was designated to receive the donation as part of the Bank’s recent ribbon-cutting ceremony for its North Kingstown Branch located at 1350 Ten Rod Road in the Stop & Shop Plaza.
Invitations to the ribbon cutting included a special card, inviting all recipients to bring with them to the ceremony. For every card collected, BankNewport would extend a contribution to the Friends of the North Kingstown Dog Pound.
The mission of the Friends of the North Kingstown Dog Pound is to improve the quality of life for animals staying at the North Kingstown Dog Pound. The all volunteer, non-profit organization spays or neuters every dog and cat before they are adopted, ensure animals receive appropriate inoculations against disease and illness, and provide all necessary medical care, new beds and toys while the animals wait for adoption.
