BankNewport Names Irene Mendez Community Lending Loan Officer
NEWPORT, R.I. (June 25, 2021) – BankNewport is pleased to announce that Irene Mendez has joined its Residential Lending team as a Community Lending Officer. In her new role, Mendez facilitates the loan process for clients, including first-time homebuyers, reviewing their credit reports, income and assets information, and advising on loan products that best fit their needs.
Prior to joining BankNewport, Mendez was a real estate agent at Empire Real Estate Group in East Providence and also worked as a community lending coordinator for Rhode Island Housing. She is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals and the National Association of Rhode Island Realtors.

Mendez holds a degree in Business Management from the Community College of Rhode Island. A native of Central Falls, RI, she currently resides in Woonsocket.
