BankNewport Names Kathleen Charbonneau Senior Vice President, Director of Community Relations and Charitable Giving

NEWPORT, R.I. – (June 28, 2023) – BankNewport is pleased to announce that Kathleen A. Charbonneau has been promoted to senior vice president, director of community relations and charitable giving.  She serves as the Bank’s primary resource for all community relations, public relations, and philanthropic initiatives, including the BankNewport Charitable Foundation.

Charbonneau joined BankNewport in 2000, and most recently served as Vice President, Director of Community Relations. She has over 30 years of experience in the areas of program development and implementation, communications, nonprofit relationship building, and community engagement.

An active civic and business leader, Charbonneau is a member of the board of directors of East Bay Community Action Program, where she serves on their executive and finance committees.  She is also a member of the board of directors for Grantmakers Council of Rhode Island and is a member of the Community College of Rhode Island Alumni Association Assembly, where she was inducted into the College’s Society of the Knights in 2016.

Charbonneau earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island, and a Master of Business Administration from Providence College.  She is a resident of East Providence, Rhode Island.
